Volunteers

Temple Beth-El depends on its dedicated army of volunteers!  There are many opportunities to be involved with our Synagogue.  No matter what your background or time commitment may be, there is a volunteer opportunity for YOU!  Please contact Alexis Siemon or Melanie Kalman (president@tbeithaca.org) if you are interested in any of these positions.

Security Committee - Members of this committee update the current security policies and procedures that are in place.  The committee  works to ensure that building security, in-person gatherings, and daily activities are conducted in a manner to keep everyone safe and secure.  

Adult Education - The Adult Education Committee exists to promote educational activities and programs for the Congregation and community, and to direct program activities at all functions in order to increase the knowledge of our Jewish heritage.  Please consider this opportunity to help make a difference in our engagement of the membership. 

Membership Committee - This committee welcomes new and potential TBE members. Meeting casually, having friendly phone conversations and delivering “welcome gifts” are part of the work. Creating an “orientation” packet and giving tours of the building help new members adjust. Our committee also plans the annual TBE picnic that is held at the end of the summer.

Social Committee - The Social Committee plans various social functions of the Congregation for the benefit of all members.  As we begin to plan more in-person events, the committee will provide a vital role in the enrichment and engagement of Temple Beth-El membership.

Youth Committee - The Youth Committee promotes activities for the young people; to contribute to their knowledge of Jewish tradition, and their respect for the Jewish religion and to encourage their participation in appropriate social activities.  This is a critical role to keep our young members engaged and active in Temple life.

Publicity Committee - This committee will help publicize upcoming events at Temple Beth-El, especially events that are open to the public.  Helping to manage the calendar, and writing descriptions of events will be a part of this committee's responsibilities.  

Fund Raising Committee - The Fund Raising Committee exists to encourage the members of the Temple and others to provide for the financial needs of the Temple.  The current focus of the committee is to maintain the matching contributions to the Endowment Fund.  As a member of this committee, you can make a difference in the financial future of Temple Beth-El!

IT Support - We have an ongoing need for IT help in the area of web design, audio expertise, and Microsoft Office 365 (Email and OneDrive).  Please consider helping in one of those areas if you have the appropriate skill set.

Office Support - Temple Beth-El has a need for support in the office when we need phone coverage or helping out with some office tasks such as envelope stuffing.
